What's New in the New Year

So, I wanted to make this post before January has gone by the wayside. I can't believe we are already one month into 2013. It has indeed been a busy month. The jingle I mentioned in my last post was for Safe Auto. It features Reginald Thomas, from Cirkus Records on vocals. You can check it out on my YouTube Channel. On another note, the events party band, Eclectro-Funk is in full swing with rehearsals. Writing charts has occupied much of my time. Be looking for them in the not too distant future.

Year's End

Lots of new happenings as this year closes out and we enter into 2013. I wrote a jingle for a well known company, and my wife, cinematographer Michelle Carter, shot the video; it's a competition, more on that in January. I started a healthy cooking blog, Cuisine ala Jazz, so drop by and try out some of the recipes. I'm also putting together an events party band. Looking forward to getting that up and running in January as well. I'll keep you posted.

The Front Porch

Music and conversation about the creative process. Sounds interesting? Well, tomorrow, Nov. 11th, I will be performing and talking about my music on The Front Porch at the historic Victory Grill at 8pm. Though it's called the Front Porch the actual performance will take place inside. No cover and plenty of good vibes. Hope to see you there.

Austin Music Scene

It's taking a little while to get my feet replanted in the Austin music scene, but slowly but surely. I'm currently working on new music for you to hear. However, I will be dropping in on the Austin Jazz Festival on Nov. 4th at Central Market North, put on by the Austin Jazz Alliance. I will also be the featured artist on The Front Porch's Sunday Stage the following week at the Victory Grill. I hope to see you there. The music and conversation begins at 8pm.

Back Home

I made it back to Austin. The trip to L.A. was fantastic. I found some time to re-energize out at Point Fermin. This place is indeed a powerful energy center. However, as Amy Grant says so eloquently, you've "got to come down from that mountain top". So, it's time to get back to work.

Hey everyone. Well I'm in L.A. for the week. I spent the day at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church yesterday for the Day of Prayer, a kick off to the Year of Faith. The event was sponsored by the African American Catholic Center for Evangelization (AACCFE). I had the opportunity to play with some very talented musicians and hear some fantastic choirs from all over the L.A. area. I'm looking forward to collaborating with some of these talented folks in the not too distant future.
