Merry Christmas!
Can you believe how quickly time passes? I can't seem to get my head around it. Seems we just started this year with me telling you about my new projects: Eclectro-Funk and the DCQ, now here we are already at the end of the year. So what's new? Basically, looking into the new year. The DCQ played what is probably the last gig of 2013 at the Austin chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Christmas Party. It was a good way to end the year, giving back in an extremely joyful way. Be sure and drop by our management site: Centerpoint Music, and tell your friends about us. I have several bands that are willing and able to make your event a musical happening. Hope your holiday's are blessed.

Happenings!
Well, let me get right to the latest news. Eclectro-Funk will be performing at The Carousel Lounge tonight from 7-9pm. Come on out and have some fun with us. Now for a horse of a different color, the DCQ minus 1 will be back at the Satellite Bistro on the 28th. Looking forward to seeing you at our shows.

Disappearing Act
Well in case you've been wondering I haven't been exactly missing these last couple of months, just not present, at least on this blog. Sorry about that. So what's been happening in my absence you say? Music of course. The DCQ did a private function earlier this month, and the DCQ minus 1 will be back at the Satellite Bistro next month. I'll keep you posted on that. Eclectro-Funk is preparing for a series of studio dates beginning the end of the month. We're working on some of my original material, which is always a thrill for me; and the rest of the band appears to be enjoying it too. Can't wait to share that with you.

The DCQ minus 1
Tonight, the new DCQ minus 1 with Eric Calistri on guitar and Dewayne Morris on bass. That's right, it's the trio. I'm disappointed we couldn't include our drummer on this one, but we're working on getting the full quartet a gig soon. We'll be at the Satellite Bistro from 7-10pm. Hoping to see you there.

The DCQ
Rehearsed with the new DCQ (Duane Carter Quartet). I'm pleased so far. We've done a number of standards so far, looking forward to adding the originals soon. We'll be at the Satellite Bistro on June 28th, as a trio. More info to come.

Mother's Day
It's been a while since I last posted; shame, shame, I know. If only I had that clone to help me out. But seriously, can you believe we are already deep in the middle of May? Seems 2013 just started. Well anyway, I hope you all had a pleasant Mother's Day. I realize not all of you from around the world that visit my site celebrate Mother's Day the same time of year, but my research shows that the majority of you do. Regardless of when you do, I believe any moment your mother crosses your mind is the perfect time to celebrate her. So, many blessings to all Moms!

Boredom?
Who has time to be bored? That's a concept that truly escapes me. In fact, I've been so busy lately that I missed posting news about my gig last night at the Satelitte Bistro. Fortunately, it was listed on my calendar, the Austin Jazz Alliance calendar, and the All About Jazz calendar; and I did manage to get a couple of Facebook messages out thanks to my great support team. Anyway, it was a good gig with good friends Jimmy Duran on keys and Dan Cistone on bass. Hopefully you can make our next one on April 5th.
Peace.

Satellite Bistro
If you're in the Austin area, drop by the Satellite Bistro tonight, Friday the 22nd, between 7 and 10pm. I'll be playing with a fantastic trio: Jimmy Duran on piano, Aaron Allen on bass, and myself on trumpet. Hope to see you there.

What's New in the New Year
So, I wanted to make this post before January has gone by the wayside. I can't believe we are already one month into 2013. It has indeed been a busy month. The jingle I mentioned in my last post was for Safe Auto. It features Reginald Thomas, from Cirkus Records on vocals. You can check it out on my YouTube Channel. On another note, the events party band, Eclectro-Funk is in full swing with rehearsals. Writing charts has occupied much of my time. Be looking for them in the not too distant future.
